February Sowing with the Hortus Poeticus Senior Grower

  • Hortus Poeticus Lippen Wood Farm Petersfield, England, GU32 1JW United Kingdom (map)

Enter the Hortus Poeticus world of seed sowing and slow turn of February suddenly feels full of gentle promise to come.

We have created a wonderful course here at our farm that will take you through how we sow our beautiful flower palette at this time of year and beyond.

We will cover all the seed sowing principles before allowing you to sow some seeds of your own for flowers this summer from our particular seed collection, including sweet peas and generous hearted annuals.

We will take you through the miracles of seed sowing, pricking out and potting on as well as hardening off and planting out and protection and staking thereafter.

Additionally we will provide you with a full tray of hardy annuals from our couture palette of colours and forms to enhance your garden and vases early in the season before your own seed sown varieties get underway.

Spaces are limited so we recommend booking early. As always, a tour of our farm,
which is not usually open to the public, will also be included.
